INTERVIEW: Jesse Jagz’s Controversial Take on the Illiteracy of Africans | 2023 | MyResono


Jesse Jagz, a Nigerian rapper and songwriter, recently described Africans as ‘educated illiterates’.

This statement was made during a chat in which he spoke about the ideology, technology and other aspects of society that have been adopted from the Western world.

He argued that an average African knows so much yet knows so little, and that Western style of democracy is practiced without being critically analyzed for its relevance to the continent.

To illustrate his point, Jagz posed a series of questions, such as which African country makes their own cars, prints their own money, and has steady power supply outside of South Africa.

Finally, he pondered which African country makes their own music by way of musical gadgets and equipments.
