In recent times, there has been a noticeable rise in the number of talented young Nigerian singers, with 1da Banton among the ranks. The singer, whose real name is Godson Ominibie Epelle, has expressed his desire to record a song with fellow artist Omah Lay.
1da Banton said he contacted Omah Lay and sent an audio file of the demo for their collaboration. He revealed that he had been expecting a quick response but has since seen no such response from the Afropop sensation.
Explaining the relationship between them, the singer stated that they have known each other since their days in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. While they weren’t close friends, they still know each other from when they were both based in Rivers state.
Commenting further on his efforts in initiating a collaboration between them, 1da Banton said he had sent several follow up text messages to Omah Lay but the “Understand” crooner had been ignoring him. Consequently, he stopped trying and expressed his disappointment in very public statements during an interview with On Air Personality, Dotun on Cool FM Lagos.
